Event #21: House of Hades (The Third Dead End)
EVENT #21: House of Hades (The Third Dead End)
THE BEGINNING OF AN END
On this particularly day, everyone will hear a voice begin narrating over the denizens of the simulation. It seems innocuous enough if a bit strange. It isn’t The Peacekeeper’s synthetic tone or any of The Creators that are known. It speaks to how nice the weather is, how quaint things are, and points out basic routines of longstanding inhabitants as they go about their business.
Little do they realize that others all throughout the multiverse are experiencing the very same phenomenon.
Eventually, though, he says: "But while going about your everyday normalcy, you meet with a terrible and unexpected fate." As soon as the words are uttered, something awful, unexpected, and fatal happens. Perhaps you tripped in just the right way to be hit by an oncoming car in the city, got poisoned by some usually safe forage from the forest, fell through the floorboards of your house in Amani into the core of the simulation, or so on. The point is: you die.
At least, for a time. Eventually, you open your eyes awash and afloat in a river of blood.
(Don't worry, they have towels.)

The House of Hades
"Welcome to the House of Hades!" inhabitants will be greeted cheerfully by a pale, floating figure. Some might even recognize the voice. "Oh, hey... I've never seen a shade like you before! Ha. That's kind of neat. Well, take a number and get in line! Hades will-" The sentence is interrupted by a large yawn. "-deal with you shortly." Before you can ask any further questions, the greeter appears to be fast asleep. Well, best do as you're told and try to figure out what in the underworld is going on.
It doesn't take long before you - and others, some from Amani but some you don’t recognize - are greeted by the 'man of the house' himself: Hades. Despite his gruff appearance and abrasive nature, he makes it clear that he is asking for aid. An interloper has made his way through the underworld despite their enhanced security measures. When he describes the disturbing skeletal, star-laced creature those from Amani, at least, will understand what's happening.
The End is making an attempt to take over this world. The Overseer has called upon you (as well as reached out to other realities) to try and stop him. This is your test and another dead end should you fail to stop him. Thankfully, you have extra aid and the natives of this world - both above and below to help you. "My... son, Zagreus, will get you prepared for the battles ahead. He's an expert at ransacking my domain and needs to regain his pride now that someone else has gotten through what only he could before."
"Thank you, father, but my pride isn't quite as fragile as you seem to believe," speaks the referenced son of Hades as he steps up on cue. "Now then! Let's get you all geared up and ready to ransack the underworld, shall we? It’s not nearly as frightening as it seems once you’re in it!"
Somehow, you doubt this.
"Though if you do end up in a bit of trouble, Thanatos will be ferrying your souls right back to our house!" Zagreus gestures to a hooded figure wielding a scythe who seems caught off-guard to suddenly be part of the conversation. He gives a curt nod before going anywhere else that isn't here. "And his mother, Nyx, will be helping keep you hidden from this enemy until you get to him."
From the shadows steps a woman seemingly drenched in the inky depths of night itself. "You will remain safe under my care, this I can assure you," she speaks, soft and haunting, before giving a small nod as well and making her way towards the center of the house again.
"Right, then! Just come this way," encourages Zagreus with heated heels sparking along the floor as he picks up the pace. "Don’t mind the mess, sorry, I wasn’t exactly expecting guests," he says as people are shuffled through his bed quarters to the training grounds beyond.
"Now, the real fun begins!"

CHOOSE YOUR ADVENTURE
Once past Prince Zagreus' messy bed quarters and to the training grounds beyond, everyone will be given their choice of weapon. It's up to you what feels best or what you're strongest in! This won't have any influence on how successful one is or not in their attempts to break out of the underworld, they're all equally powerful Infernal Arms.
PICK A WEAPON
| "Stygius" (Stygian Blade) ![]() |
Lore "...Stygius, the Blade of the Underworld, must have been among the finest weapons ever wielded, back when it was whole..." |
Attack Style The blade's default attack pattern is a three-swing long combo consisting of a mixture of wide and directional swings. The special creates a small burst around you after a short jump, and leaves you stationary for a short time. |
| "Varatha" (Eternal Spear) ![]() |
Lore "...It must have been a sight when Lord Hades wielded Varatha the Eternal Spear versus the Titans, driving back those fiends into the depths, together with the help of his Olympian brothers and sisters..." |
Attack Style Repeated long-range stab attacks that can be charged to unleash a spin attack dealing high damage in a wide radius. The special throws the spear, which will damage enemies along its path until it stops. Activating special again recalls the spear, which will deal damage on the way back. |
| "Aegis" (Shield of Chaos) ![]() |
Lore "...Aegis, the Shield of Chaos, predecessor to the very Aegis wielded by Lord Zeus and by Athena, his most favored daughter... the Lord of Thunder defended his brothers and sisters using that very shield when, together, they conspired to drive the Titans back into the lowest reaches of the Underworld..." |
Attack Style The main attack is a single swing that hits in an arc and knocks enemies back. Holding the attack button will block damage from the front, while charging the "Bull Rush". Releasing this will perform a shield bash forwards, dealing damage to enemies hit. The special throws the shield, which bounces between enemies and objects before returning. |
| "Coronacht" (Heart-Seeking Bow) ![]() |
Lore "...Coronacht, the so-called Heart-Seeker, is certainly the finest bow ever conceived, and wielded once by none other than Mistress Hera, who stood by side with Zeus, on better terms back then, as they drove back the Titans under a storm of arrows and thunder..." |
Attack Style Ranged attacks that hit enemies at a distance. The main attack can be charged to increase distance and damage, releasing at the right moment for additional damage. The special sprays arrows in a cone in front of you, dealing small damage to each enemy. |
| "Malphon" (Twin Fists of Malphon) ![]() |
Lore "...What is a weapon if not the extension of one's will to survive, to destroy? The ancient cyclopean forge-masters who created the Infernal Arms in accordance with the Fates' design must have understood this when they delivered the singular Twin Fists of Malphon in secret to the gods..." |
Attack Style Fast repetitive short-range combo attacks using fists in close-quarters combat. The special is an uppercut that hits twice. This weapon is unique due to it being the only Infernal Arm with a dash-special; if the special is used while dashing it will uppercut faster but only hit once. |
| "Exagryph" (Adamant Rail) ![]() |
Lore "...Least known among the gods who stood together to depose the Titans is the Lady Hestia, reclusive goddess of the hearth, and one-time wielder of Exagryph, the Rail of Adamant; an artifact of metal and of flame so dreadful that the gods themselves abandoned it once their fell work was done..." |
Attack Style Automatic or manual fire (depending on whether Attack is pressed or held) that must be reloaded once all ammo is used. The special launches a grenade to bombard the target area, which takes a short time to arrive but deals damage in an area once it lands. |
And if you need to practice with your weapon before actually heading out into the underworld, Skelly is a friendly - and talkative! - "dummy" for you to work with. Don't mind how much he seems to enjoy it. He's just very enthusiastic about his job! Along with a weapon, people will be asked to choose a keepsake. However, there are only specific ones to be chosen from that relate to the gods on Olympus.
As it turns out, Zagreus' extended family is interested in ensuring their world's safety. After all, they live here! So, along your journey you'll be given the power of a god of choosing but only one. (Sorry, Hades fans, no mixing and matching or duo boons this playthrough...! Just to keep things easy on the moderators AND simple for you.)
This will give you communication with the god of your choice as well! You can talk to them, give them offerings of Nectar or Ambrosia, and deal with their backseat fighting along your journey.
PICK A GOD (AND PRAY)
Thunder Signet![]() |
Zeus
|
Description "Many beg favors of the King of Olympus. Few earn them with his compliments." Zeus is the Olympian God of the Sky and Thunder, and the ruler of the Olympian Gods. He is Hades' younger brother and Zagreus' uncle. Zeus' boons excel at dealing damage to groups of enemies, as chain lightning effects bounce between enemies, and lightning strikes can hit multiple enemies. |
Conch Shell![]() |
Poseidon
|
Description "He would turn the very tides and sunder the earth for you." Poseidon is the Olympian God of the sea, earthquakes and horses, and is occasionally referred to by the epithet of "Earthshaker." Poseidon boons offers a damage increase as well as the ability to knock enemies around, dealing extra wall slam or trap damage. |
Owl Pendant![]() |
Athena
|
Description "She anticipated almost every detail, save for the kinship she would feel." Athena is the Olympian Goddess of Wisdom and strategic warfare. She offers boons that cause abilities to Deflect enemy attacks. In addition, she also offers boons that reduce damage or increase other defensive options. Athena offers excellent defensive options with her boons, protecting you from damage with the ability to deflect enemy projectiles and melee attacks, as well as reduce the damage you will take in a run. |
Eternal Rose![]() |
Aphrodite
|
Description "Her true affection is reserved for those who find love and beauty on their own." Aphrodite is the Olympian Goddess of Love and Beauty. She offers boons that inflict her Weak, or make enemies more susceptible to damage. Her signature Status Curse is Weak, which reduces the afflicted enemies' damage. Aphrodite also offers boons which increase the effectiveness of her Status Curse itself, such as Empty Inside (which increases the effect's duration). |
Blood-Filled Vial![]() |
Ares
|
Description "Some of the strongest kinships form during the darkest of circumstances." Ares is the Olympian God of War. Unlike the more strategically oriented Athena, Ares' domain is the physical, violent, and untamed aspects of warfare. He offers boons which can increase his ability damage, inflict his signature Status Curse, Doom, or create Blade Rifts which deal rapid damage to enemies who walk into them. Ares boons deal high amounts of damage over time, either by keeping enemies inside Blade Rifts, or by continuously applying Doom to enemies. |
Adamant Arrowhead![]() |
Artemis
|
Description "Her solitary nature and her sharpened instincts means she seldom dares to share her trust." Artemis is the Olympian Goddess of the hunt and the older twin sister of Apollo. She offers boons which give abilities the chance to deal Critical damage. In addition, she also offers boons that improve Cast abilities. While the damage bonus offered on her boons is lower compared to other Gods', the Critical hits they offer deal three times the damage of a normal ability, granting some of the best overall DPS gain offered by any single god or goddess. In addition, her Cast related boons increase your total ammo or add a projectile, further enabling a powerful ranged tool. |
Overflowing Cup![]() |
Dionysus
|
Description "Two free spirits, though far apart, still can brighten each other's days." Dionysus is the Olympian God of Wine and madness, and cousin to Zagreus. He offers boons revolving around his signature Status Curse, Hangover, slowing, and stunning enemies, as well as various drinking-themed Boons. Dionysus offers strong damage over time abilities on nearly all his offensive boons. However, he can also give strong utility abilities in the forms of stuns, slows, heals and health, damage reduction effects, and items. |
Lambent Plume![]() |
Hermes
|
Description "His carefree nature and his haste never betray his true capacity." Hermes is the Olympian God of Commerce, Trickery, and Travel, as well as the messenger of the gods. He works with Charon to guide souls to their proper place in the Underworld, with Hermes delivering the souls to Charon, for him to ferry them down the Styx the rest of the way (giving Hermes the title of psychopomp, or someone who guides souls to the afterlife, which he and Charon share). He offers boons that enhance speed in various ways, including attack speed and special speed. His boons can also improve dash and cast recovery. |
Frostbitten Horn![]() |
Demeter
|
Description "Aeons, generations, distances; family can withstand them all." Demeter is the Olympian Goddess of Seasons and mother of Persephone. Many of the boons she offers inflict her signature Status Curse, Chill, which causes enemies to slow down and, possibly, shatter, spreading the Curse. Her other boons vary between helping survivability by healing or increasing damage. Demeter boons excel at control, as Chill slows enemies down the more you strike them. |
With regards to communication between the gods, we're letting players do what they want with that and NPCing them as they wish! Zeus hitting on you? Sorry about that, but it's bound to happen. Broseidon won't shut up about a nearby fish? Fishing does sound fun, actually... Have fun with it!
GOING UP
You have a weapon and an exit buddy in the form of an Olympian deity. Now, it's time to truly tackle your task of breaking out of the underworld to meet The End (instead of Hades) in combat once you reach Greece. Of course, Hades isn't going to make it easy... Why would he?
Characters will need to fight and succeed each 'layer' of the underworld. Each one has a mini-boss to face off against and you'll need a plan of action to do so. Don't worry though! Even if you fail, Thanatos will bring you right back... and you can try again! Maybe with a different weapon, god, and so on. ★ Tartarus » Tartarus is an indoor biome just outside of the House of Hades. It is a maze of dungeons and corridors which holds the souls of those who committed crimes and sins in their lives. The River Styx flows through and around Tartarus, emptying into a pool inside the House of Hades itself.

- ↪ Boss: Megaera | She has been tasked with handling matters in Tartarus, which includes dealing with you. A woman of few words, she prefers to let her trusty whip do the speaking for her.
↪ Plan Comment
- ↪ Boss: "Lernie" | The Bone Hydra is what remains of the Lernaean Hydra, 'affectionately' nicknamed Lernie by Prince Zagreus, slain by the demi-god hero Heracles as part of his Twelve Labors. It now dwells in the fiery Phlegethon river that flows through Asphodel, and guards the passage to Elysium.
↪ Plan Comment
- ↪ Boss(es): Theseus & Asterius | Theseus is a former hero and king of Athens, most famous for slaying the Minotaur. Asterius, also known as the Minotaur, is a bull-headed demi-human who was recruited by Hades to help prevent escape from the underworld with Theseus. In life, Asterius was locked in a labyrinth by his step-father, King Minos, only to eventually be slain by Theseus. In death, the two are apparently comrades.
↪ Plan Comment
- ↪ Final Boss: The End | A being made of the fabric of the universe itself. His skin is inky black and stars freckle along his body in the shape of various, uknown constellations. Sometimes, the outline of a skeleton can be made out beneath the veil of darkness. He is fast, cunning, and will wield a dark copy of the same Infernal Arm that you bring to battle.

DOWNTIME DOWN BELOW
While the main point of being here in the House of Hades is to save the world, not everyone is cut out to be a hero! Or perhaps you'd just like to take a break between runs through the underworld if you're hitting a wall an unable to progress. Don't worry, says Zagreus, it happens to even the best! He would know.
To that end though, there are a few spots to hang out and interact with shades, fellow inhabitants, or people from other worlds who met an unexpected demise and woke up here like you too. You can also help out in small ways if you'd like seeing as you're an unexpected guest.
★ Fishing » Who doesn't love a fishing mini-game? Enjoy finding rare, exotic, and sometimes downright bizarre fish throughout the underworld. Thankfully, the fish only show up after a chamber has been cleared so you don't have to worry about sneak attacks.
★ Clean Up » Perhaps you've noticed the anxious little gorgon flitting to and fro in the house. Her name is Dusa and while she's excited about all the company - no, really, she's just very busy you see! - she seems a bit overwhelmed keeping the place up to Hades' standards of cleanliness. Why not lend her a helping hand?
★ Cerberus » The best three-headed boy there is, Cerberus will want all the pets he can get! A shame you only have two hands, isn't it? Well, that's alright- Not all his heads like pets anyway! Since he's 'off-duty' for this particular mission, Cerberus will need to be entertained in other ways. Take him for a walk, give him some treats, or play fetch.
★ The Lounge » This expansive kitchen and dining room is where shades and House staff alike can relax for a time during their eternal stay in the Underworld. You can give the head chef some fish you've caught during your runs through the underworld for a tasty meal!
★ The Garden » Although to enter the underworld you jump through Zagreus' bedroom window, you might be surprised to find there's a much easier way through the house's garden. All manner of underworld - and some overworld! - flora can be found here. Some good company in Zagreus' mother, Persephone, is also available here. She's happy to lend an ear so long as you're happy to help her tend to the garden.
... and more! These are just some suggestions of things to do but by all means, have fun with the setting as you please! You can nap with Hypnos, try (and fail) to break into the administrative chamber, etc. The House of Hades is here for all to explore and enjoy!

NOTES
★ This post will not be the the same as the event post that goes live on July 31st! Chai, why not? After getting this all set up and ready, I realized that I wanted to give you guys, the people here for the fourth wall, and myself time to tackle the underworld. Since this will be a bit more 'hands-on' with direct character action and influence, I want to make sure I'm not rushing anything!
★ That said, people can continue to play and ask for results even once the final log is posted. Basically, I'll just be giving a brief synopsis on if characters succeeded in saving The House of Hades or not based on the number of successful attempts to break out! Also, what that will mean/look like for the end of the event. But that doesn't mean you have to stop or that we'll stop giving results since, look, Hades might be enjoying the extra feedback on security control.
★ What if I role-play a character from Hades originally? You can absolutely feel free to have your character take the role they would outlined in this event setting! Or, if you'd like, you can use 'multiversal shenanigans' and Amani allowing doubles for the reason why there is (for example) a Hypnos here and a Hypnos there! We'll leave it up to your discretion how you want to handle it.
★ For this plotting post, feel free to use the template below to make your general plans and find people to fight through the underworld with! And feel free to ask any questions here.
★ Since the actual event log won't be going up until July 31st, two weeks from now, and it's a fourth wall event... We're going to skip the August TDM and use this in place of it! The simulation will be 'paused' while inhabitants and others are off in the underworld until the end of August. This also means that our August DTF Mingle will be included in the fourth wall activities and also follow the Hades theme!

1) Can the Doll reclaim her canon role as an entity capable of empowering warriors based on the blood they've shed? (Presumably only blood shed in this Dead End would count.)
2) Can the Doll claim an Amani-oriented role as an entity capable of empowering warriors based on the acts of intimacy they've completed? (Again, presumably only seed spilled in this Dead End would count.)

First: like with the other Dead Ends, does this place count as the Real World? Asking because of the Ancients magicks working more strongly outside of the simulation. I promise not to break stuff with Creation magic if so.
Second: How many boons does one get per each section of the Underworld? I was assuming starting at one and adding a single additional per stage, but wanted to clarify!

Lady Maria from Bloodborne would make for an interesting optional boss serving out eternity in Tartarus, for instance, and there's a version of Rose that would fit reasonably well in Elysium.

Character Name: Rosie

Canon: Original
Player Status: Current player!
About Your Blorbo: If you combine the songs Blank Space by Taylor Swift and Fergalicious by Fergie, you get Rosie as a person. She's a hypersexual nightmare dressed as a daydream. She had spent her life the last few years before Amani basically being the person - specifically rich older men who want to fuck her - most desired in the moment. As a result, she doesn't really like to let people get to know the real her... because she also thinks the real her is pretty ugly, oops. But she's working on believing people when they say that's not the case! While a bit emotionally driven, she is also emotionally dysregulated. She tends to be easily jealous, petty, and horribly insecure... But! She also loves music, cares deeply about those she considers friends, and truly just wants a quiet simple life with lots of dogs even if she fights against that and makes bad choices.

Character Name: Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd

Canon: Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Player Status: Current
About Your Blorbo: ave you ever wondered what a golden retriever personified is like? Look no further than Dimitri Blaiddyd! Despite a traumatizing early life, he still has so much capacity for near unconditional love in his heart for those he holds close. It eventually ends up breaking him but, hey, he got better...! He's fine. Don't worry about the lingering darkness behind his eyes, the fact he can kill without a moment's hesitation if necessary, and has super strength he can't always control.
Just call him a good boy and watch his metaphorical tail wag. Precious.

About Your Blorbo: What happens to a child whose father was of the sea and mother of the land? They take to the stars.
All poeticism aside: Hoshiko is a (sometimes literal) hot mess and a half like her mother... Rosie. She takes after her father in the (chaotic) evil department but with pyrotechnics instead of water, has her mother's incredible looks and charm, and is in summary a steampunk space pirate lesbian. Sorry, boys, but her weaknesses are money and pretty women.

Aza Toma | Jigokuraku: Hell's Paradise | 4th wall visitor!
Character Name: Aza Toma
Canon: Jigokuraku: Hell's Paradise
Player Status: Current
About Your Blorbo: Toma comes from Edo period Japan, and also from a Dark Shonen (tm) series, so on the whole: He has been Through It. Before the battle shonen horrors hit in full, he was a samurai's son, turned orphan, turned bandit, who infiltrated an elite organization of samurai executioners solely to rescue his older brother (his only remaining family, and fully the only person who mattered to him) from a death sentence.
The two of them, along with nine other executioners (real ones) and nine other death row convicts, took on a seemingly impossible mission to retrieve a supposed "elixir of life" from a strange, dangerous island. In name, the elixir was meant to be exchanged for a complete pardon for whichever convict successfully retrieved it; the Aza brothers, however, intended to take it for themselves.
And then they got to the island and the horrors began! Without getting too deep into the plot of a 127-chapter manga, Toma has now on one hand gained some Shonen Combat Enhancements and a bit of experience and independence on top of his natural talent with a sword, but has on the other seen some truly existentially horrifying shit. He's heard enough about gods and seen enough flowers growing places they shouldn't be for a lifetime, thanks.
In terms of personality, Toma is, to put it nicely, practical, strategically-minded, and soft-spoken. To put it less nicely, he's callous, calculating, unsociable, and two-faced - though he's more likely these days to just simply tell someone when he thinks they're a fucking idiot than he was before the Horrors. He's a smug little shit, and the only person he thinks more highly of than himself is his older brother, who he can get REAL annoying about.
Event Plans: Toma is a temporary fourth wall visitor, and he hates this! He hates this, hates all this talk of gods, and REALLY hates those gods having the gall to separate him from his brother. And by death? Really? Do you know how much shit they've gone through to keep that from happening?
On arrival, he'll be biding his time to learn what he can and determine what will be in his best interests; once he's convinced that the way out they're being presented is the only one he's got, though, he'll commit.
He's not too rash to take breaks between runs (and he's never actually died before unlike half his source material's cast so THAT will be new), but won't be particularly eager to get friendly - euphemistically or otherwise - with anyone. That said, he may agree to some temporary cooperation (read: he will try to use people if he considers doing so beneficial), and I invite all efforts to befriend him, bother him, convince him of the practical benefits of peaceful interactions*, etc.
As an aside, he'll be steering clear of the garden, thanks.
* I'm realizing as I type that when first told about "peaceful interactions" he may Think he knows what people mean, but actually does not, because sex can serve a particular metaphysical power-enhancing purpose in his setting. It... does work differently, though. Let me know if you wanna know more about that??
Interested in: All tbh. Strictly practical teamups, efforts to befriend (I can not guarantee how that'll go), straight-up enmity (that one isn't hard with him). Smut if anyone can, uh, manage that with him - I AM looking at weaponplay and sadism, Toma does have a hell of a sadistic streak to him (though I ALSO can't say he'll likely be responsible about it), and i also can't claim not to enjoy when he suffers, whoops. He may also cry pretty easily depending on setup, which I know some of y'all will be in favor of.
Anything else?: Toma is from post-manga, so HELLA spoilers lie this way for folks who've only seen the anime.
ALSO: I mentioned Toma's brother earlier! The two of them are extremely codependent and their dynamic is, frankly, pretty suspicious in a way coincidentally appropriate to an event related to Greek mythology! It isn't necessarily explicit, but. Well. If he gets to talking or thinking about Chobe, the vibes may get weird.
For that reason and because he's a dick, here's his permissions and opt-out!

Caspar von Bergliez | Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Character Name: Caspar von Bergliez
Canon: Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Player Status: Current
About Your Blorbo: Caspar comes from a European-inspired fantasy setting, where he grew up as the second son of his country's Minister of Military Affairs. He's an excitable, energetic, and eager-to-please young man with an intense fondness for combat and training. He's also got some pretty deep-seated baggage surrounding his place within his own family, his perceived betrayal of said family when he sided against his own country in a war for the unification of the continent, and his distinct perception that he's not good at much of anything except fighting, but whether that'll be evident in any given interaction is a little bit of a toss-up.
Event Plans: Caspar has been in Amani for a couple years now, so he's pretty familiar with the whole Dead End thing - and he is READY to grab some gauntlets (and a boon I still need to pick) and throw himself at the problem until it stops moving. (I say that, but I promise he has a grasp of, like, tactics. He Can Learn.)
Despite his antsiness to solve the problem with violence, he can be pulled out of his Fight Loop to take breaks! Hang out, train with him, etc. He will ADORE Cerberus, and will probably want to help Dusa out some. Poor girl seems like she could use it.
...Also, seriously, he SHOULD take breaks; while Caspar has been near death a good few times, and experienced it through an alternate self's memory once, he isn't exactly used to it; he may be a bit more rattled by the repeated runs than he'll let on!
Interested in: All for team-ups, both with fellow sim inhabitants and visitors!! Caspar is basically an HP tank with an up-close combat style and insane pain tolerance, so he pairs well with folks who can keep more of a distance. I'm always up for him making friends, getting into fights, or both; he doesn't consider a beating the crap out of each other to be mutually exclusive with friendship! He's also very available for hurt/comfort, either with him helping others out with the whole repeated deaths/apocalypse threat situation, or others calling him on needing to slow the hell down.
Also, I'm gonna be honest, it's a wonder I haven't written weaponplay with him yet, SO. HOLDS HIM UP FOR THAT.

Character Name: Mithrun of the House of Kerensil

Canon: Dungeon Meshi
Player Status: Current
About Your Blorbo: Mithrun is a miserable little elf with magically-induced super-depression, who's finally learning to be a person again after years of living only for his deeply self-destructive pursuits as captain of the Elf Black Ops. Now he works at a bakery! While he's made some pretty significant progress in the last year, though, Mithrun still often comes across as largely out of it or strangely intense in turns, depending on what piques his extremely limited interest.
Event Plans: While this is Mithrun's first Dead End, he's familiar with the concept - and with navigating multi-floor gauntlets of deadly threats in order to prevent world-ending cataclysms. Once appraised of the situation, he will be tackling the Underworld with single minded-focus until someone (probably multiple someones) make him take a damn break.
Currently thinking of him using the spear, which will be... terrifying in combination with his use of teleportation in combat. Considering going with Artemis's boons, too, because for sure what this guy needs is a higher crit chance.
(...Genuinely, though, his depth perception isn't great, he could use a higher crit chance.)
EDIT: I changed my mind and he's going with Demeter. Also a terrifying combination.
Interested in: Always in favor of teamups, for one - though Mithrun can be risky to work with, given his iffy aim and extremely dangerous magic. Outside of runs, seriously, intervention to keep him from hyperfocusing and running himself ragged would be great! Make him stop and chill for a bit, get some bonding in. I'm good with the KOTM in general, though none specifically jump out for him - except admittedly maybe intoxication, but it's arranging for it that's the hard part.

Rose Lalonde | Homestuck
Character Name: Rose Lalonde

Canon: Homestuck
Player Status: Current
ABOUT YOUR BLORBO: Rose Lalonde is the Seer of Light, a magic-oriented heroine from a very complicated story. She was instrumental in helping her friends achieve their happy ending, but it ultimately wasn't all that happy for her. Fate doesn't relinquish its grip on her so easily.
She's nerdy, gothy, and a little mean. She cares about people but tries not to show it too much. She's from an Earth with the internet, McDonald's, and Greek myth. She's also technically a god, which puts her in good company here. Most relevant to a smut game, she's distinctly sapphic-leaning.
EVENT PLANS: Rose is on loan from Amani, and she's no stranger to strategically addressing a series of boss battles. She'll be wielding the Heart-Piercing Bow, as it's the only weapon on the list she considers pleasingly elegant. And while she's tempted by several keepsakes (especially the Overflowing Cup and Frostbitten Horn), she'll ultimately go with the Adamant Arrowhead.
Rose will most often be encountered out in the field, not because she's uncomfortable in the House of Hades but because she's a workaholic. She might need rescue, or she might arrive just in time to provide a helpful arrow or some advice. She also might just be flirty because she can.
Within the House of Hades, Rose may be found resting, snooping, flirting with Nyx, and bickering one-sidedly with Hypnos.
INTERESTED IN: Rose isn't looking for romance, but she's a fan of knowledge, flirting, and making the occasional new friend. She's very much a meddlefriend, as it's her destined nature to help people solve their problems. If a character wants advice, she's not a bad choice.
Amani being what it is, Rose has gotten more comfortable with casual sexual encounters. Among the kinks of the month, she's most interested in worship and S&M. She's also a fan of CNC, though she's got limited experience with it. Rose would prefer to avoid being intoxicated due to her history with alcohol but I'm fine with putting her in that situation if there's an interesting thread to come from it.
ANYTHING ELSE?: She's trying out a new look while here in Hades. One might wonder how she was lucky enough to already be wearing such an outfit when she died from choking on an olive pit at home, but that's just how things go.

★ PLOT WITH ME
Character Name: The Last Dragonborn / Vanyel Greyjoy

Canon: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Player Status: Current
About Your Blorbo: Like it says on the tin, he is the Dragonborn, Slayer of Alduin, etc and so on - and because of the nature of the game he comes from and the Dragonborn's role as a silent protagonist, effectively a canon OC in a lot of ways. So, cliff notes:
- He comes from a Neutral-to-Chaotic Good run, where he avoided getting involved with the Thieves' Guild beyond a fling with Brynjolf and ended up salting and burning the Dark Brotherhood.
- He was raised in post-Great War Anvil by a fairly sex-focused Dibellan Cult, so learned to fight dirty and treat rules and laws more like guidelines as well as cultivating an appreciation for art and beauty and music and whatnot.
- Soul of a dragon stuffed into a human body. Which, by Elder Scrolls logic, makes him a demigod of sorts? He hasn't fully grasped all the implications there; all he knows is that he's survived situations that by all rights should have killed him.
- After a brief attempt to duck out on his Grand Destiny (tm) and just hang out at the College of Winterhold, he ended up as Archmage of the College and back on the rails re: fulfilling his apparent destiny and slaying Alduin.
- Tried his best to stay neutral in Skyrim's civil war and mostly succeeded until after the events of the Dawnguard and Dragonborn DLCs, when he finally buckled down and went to join the Legion.
- Spellsword
- Magic nerd who's invented variants of spells and even worked out a couple new ones, both for practical adventuring reasons and for less practical but sexier ones (thanks to mods); nerdy in general with a particular fondness for alchemy, history, and comparative theology
- father three adoptive children (again thanks to mods)
- Polyamorous, center of a wide polycule back home and a part of Rosie's polycule in Amani; just generally a very friendly, affectionate, tactile dude even with people he's not boning
Event Plans:
- He is definitely going to try and break through the Underworld to go punch The End in his/its
dickteeth. Mainly using the Stygian Blade, though he might also end up taking Varatha for a spin during at least one of his runs. His first pick of the keepsakes would be the Eternal Rose (can't ignore that love goddess connection), but if someone beats him to that one he would instead go with the Overflowing Cup.- He will also almost certainly try to
cheat andmix in some of his own magic/Shouts. Or just turn into a dragon at anything that gets in his way.- Hothead though he is, he won't say no to downtime between runs. He'll most likely be found in the gardens, helping Dusa with clean up, and possibly doing some fishing-based fetch quests for the chef.
- If he can lay hands on pen and paper, he will absolutely be taking all of the notes about Hades and how the Underworld compares to Sovngarde.
Interested in: Totally up for team runs! He tends to fight in close quarters, with sword in one hand and spell going in the other, and he's a bit tankier than he looks; he pairs fairly well with ranged fighters and fellow melee-ers alike. He also has enough points in healing magic to play combat medic in a pinch.
Of the kinks of the month... intoxication and worship are definitely going to come easiest to him. He's not much into sadism/masochism in his own right, though he can lean into either role if a partner's particularly interested. Bloodplay and weaponplay are most likely if you catch him fresh off a run with dragon hindbrain still fully engaged, but even outside that he's not immune to the inherent eroticism of having a blade pointed at his heart/throat/etc.
Outside that... hurt/comfort seems like almost a given for this event, and he can take either role. Sex magic is a forever favorite, and intimate bathing and "thank God we're alive" sex also seem like they'd be pretty easy to wrangle. Even more generally... I'd like to get him more involved with other guys again! Not knocking the ladies (or, well, lady) in his life, but it's been a while since he's been with a dude and it'd be a nice change of pace.
Anything else?:

it's been too long, they need to fulfill the sexy prophecy
jenova-hindbrain and dragon-hindbrain clashing in a break room during runs seems like it could be something to help get all the feistiness out of their systems
alternatively, while he's refusing to touch anyone else outside of those he's already romantically involved with, ignis might investigate him when he's doing some fishing or chores!

Angeal Hewley-Rhapsodos / Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core
Character Name: Angeal Hewley-Rhapsodos

Canon: Final Fantasy VII: Crisis core
Player Status: Current
About Your Blorbo: Original holder of the buster sword, a famous First Class SOLDIER, and one of the people on the long list of those fucked over by ShinRa! And then he died, which is why you never see him around when Cloud is.
Coming here post-death, and he's been content to run a bakery owned by a cute friend (Annie's Bakes), pick up too many hobbies than is probably healthy, get married to his childhood best friend and soulmate, and is now having elf troubles! Don't worry about that last one.
Event Plans:
- Chosen Weapon: Twin Fists of Malphon
- Chosen God: Hermes
While Angeal of course plans on going straight to end boss because hey, you're the annoying asshole who keeps fucking with their shit! ....He was ultimately one of the best trainers SOLDIER ever had, with any mentee he took on being someone who always made it to First Class.
So before anyone heads out, he'll be there with Skelly to see if anyone is having difficulty choosing a weapon, offer advice and training tips while they're testing things out, and basically just be helpful.
He might linger just a little bit at the start to see which fool idiots end up right back at the start again in like five minutes... but ultimately, Angeal doesn't plan on coming back when he sets off.
Considering he has people like Sephiroth, Genesis, and now Elidibus as sparring buddies, this confidence isn't ill-matched.
Interested in: Angeal is ultimately going to treat this as a mission, and so he's not really going to be in the same sort of relaxed and casual manner that many from Amani will know him as. All his attention is going to be on getting to the end... and The End.
badumtish
Still, I'm not opposed to RPing out training sessions, battle banter, and maybe even some spicier post-battle horny adrenaline things depending on the characters! Angeal knows that Amani's weird sex bullshit carries through everywhere, so he's flexible on helping someone out if they need it. Or maybe they can notice him getting an erection, it all works out!

Extra: I'm still on hiatus for this month, so my tagging will mostly start out slow. It should pick up as things continue!
★ PLOT WITH ME
Character Name: Elidibus

Canon: Final Fantasy XIV
Player Status: Current
About Your Blorbo: Elidibus has an extremely lengthy and complex history and character, as he should considering he's many thousands of years old! He hails from a race of Ancients living in a utopia who were extremely powerful as well as essentially immortal. He was chosen for his impartial judgement to be elected for the role of Emissary, part of the Convocation of Fourteen - wise rulers of his people and world. Though fittingly patient for his years, he is no stranger to acting when it is required. It is the love for his people and those close to him that drives him - that drive and dedication to his duty ironclad enough to last through millennia of loss and suffering.
I'm going to link his wiki here because there is just. So much. But that's a good primer. This intense twink loves a good spar.
Event Plans:
- Chosen Weapon: Varatha the Eternal Spear
- Chosen God: Demeter
Congratulations you've given Duty Man a duty to complete and by the stars will he give his all to do so. He is no stranger to Dead Ends by this point and the chance to save others from the loss of their world is not one he will pass up. Expect him to bring every last ounce of his talents and strength to the fore. Repeatedly. Should he clear the end boss he'll start over and go again. And again. On repeat.
He's extremely familiar with a spear and this is a well-made weapon indeed. That, and he's instantly going to notice Demeter's values regarding family. Love and family run deep in them both (and they have ended/threatened to end worlds over it). Combining that with his natural uses of magic and immense martial prowess means that anyone who run across him will have quite a show. It'll be quite clear exactly how much he's been holding back in the other worlds and simulation - or how much the simulation holds him back.
There WILL be chances to get CR with him in other places, and we absolutely can hash out whatever you might want. But the bulk of his time is going to be Getting Shit Done. Until we save the Greeks at least.
Interested in: KOTM are welcome, I'm down for almost anything else also! Also he absolutely notices that yeah, a lot of these people have the same names as those he knew on Etheirys - talking to others around the House reveals that yeah, even his own name is present. Also yes, please run into him bringing absolute devastation in the Underworld floors.
